Michael Jackson Staples Center | Michael Jackson Memorial Staples Center Los Angeles - This will be the Staples Center in Los Angeles, a multi-sport arena Lakers, who will host this Michael Jackson memorial event on 7 July at 10:00 local.
The public tribute to Michael Jackson, who died suddenly on June 25, will be held Tuesday in the room of Staples Center in Los Angeles, announced Thursday the representatives of the Jackson family.
This public tribute, to “celebrate the life of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop”, will begin at 10:00 local (1700 GMT), said a communication of the public relations agency Sunshine, Sachs & Associates, representing the family Jackson.
Eleven thousand tickets will be distributed free to the general public to attend the tribute, says the press release. The room the Staples Center, which hosted the rehearsal concert that was to give Michael Jackson in London from July 13, can accommodate up to 20,000 people.
The details of the tribute will be clarified in the morning of Friday, during a press conference by the heads of AEG, a promoter of concerts in London and owner of Staples Center. The announcement does however no reference to the date nor the place of the funeral of the singer.
The Staples Center, where there is the basketball team of the Los Angeles Lakers, is located in a renovated area of downtown Los Angeles. Giant screens should be installed around the building to allow as many to attend the tribute online. Michael Jackson died suddenly on June 25 in Los Angeles in a house he had rented to Holmby Hills, not far from Beverly Hills.
The announcement puts an end to many speculations about the intentions of the Jackson family, after the latter not to organize in Neverland, the singer’s ranch in California.
